I think that, like me, you prefer a game with a strategic level as well as a tactical one. Therefore, I think that I can say that, having owned both Sango 1
& 2, Sango 1 is not really a good fit for you due to the total lack of a strategic layer.

I finally decided to give Sango a chance (it's not very expensive anymore). Actually, i think it's a good preparation for Sango 2 and to chinese
history. Having played Takeda 2 and 3 a lot, the battles in Sango 1 & 2 are fairly different (Castles and Special Abilities) so Sango seems to be good
start. Being a cartoon fan, i love the artwork (this is also the reason why i still play Takeda 2) and the way the story is told. Still, Chinese history is
fairly complicated and it's not so easy to understand (lot of betrayals!). I love the music (hope they took most of it into Sango 2)...best so far in any
Magitech's games. I am stuck in the battle where i want to defeat the traitor Lu Bu (taking back the castle)...don't have much troops left (3 Divisions
of Cavalery and 2 Divisions of infantery)...almost did it once (cut both flags but no troops left....)
Cheers Edit: managed to go further still it gets harder and harder...not enough troops...i just started the entire game on normal again (got to the same point but it was a lot easier...)

You might like to keep an eye on the Fire ability. It was a key factor for many battles at the time. Basically you look for trees, wait for the wind, set it
up, and run. Very useful.

So true...having played Takeda 2 & 3 as well as S & H, i really had to change my tactics...special abilities are so important...makes it a really different game. Thanks |

Hi,
I've been playing the Sango 1 campaign during my business trip. Some battles are really hard buy somehow i still managed...the last battle cost me a lot of men...i was hoping to get some reinforcements but no...now i am completely stuck in "The attack of Shou-Chun"...no trees and an enemy with 3 times as much units as i do...impossible to win! Any way to pass this level? Or do i have to start the campaign anew? Thanks |

Problem solved...
I don't know how but on my 20th - 30th attempt i finally managed to cut the flags of the enemy...and won. Most rewarding win...ever! Cheers |

Wow, you are good. You did really tried. 1/3 of the odd is not easy. They should have reinforements coming from Sun Chuan side later on to make up the short.

Campaign completed!
Thanks for this excellent game...replayability may not be as great as in Sango 2 and Takeda 2/3 but it was like a good book... I'll return to it at some point...will try some tournaments now... Cheers PS: is it normal that there is no music during the movies? |
