I think most people play Liu Bei, but I would like to see if there is a significant number that play the other factions regulary.

I put other, as I play pretty much any faction at whim. My last couple were Liu Bei; the first, I was beset by enemies from the West and South, eventually
succumbing to repeated Cao Cao attacks despite some brilliant work (if I say so myself) in keeping them at bay, especially this one battle where they attacked
my capital in the fog that I destroyed with a surprise cavalry sortie. 5-1 casualties in my favour! My most recent playing was not so good - if losing can be
described as good - and I was pretty much destroyed in two battles against Cao Cao, whose army mauled mine badly in two sieges.

I started playing Liu Bei in the first scenario...really a bad starting position!

Not an impossible one, though. Marry a maiden to someone in Cao Cao, squash your neighbour to the north (Lu Bu, I think), make some friends, avoid your enemies
for a few years, and sow distrust and discontent with your cleverer generals, and you will go far.
